we are very excited about our new and blooming bouquet of artist films old and new – it’ll be a packed programme of experimental, political, performative, queer, feminist, foliage fun.  the full programme of films will go online a few days before the screening, but book your tickets now cos the venue is not huge – its free to get in (but a donation towards costs would be great), and we’ll run a wee bar too, so come along early and say hi and stay on later too!

The Garden film programme

Send us your films!

Ideas about and around the idea of gardens and gardening, fantasy gardens, science fiction, artist gardens, gender, sexuality and the garden, queer gardening, feminism and the garden, animations, music videos, experimental, documentary, activist films…. films old and new would be lovely, or maybe you have something you’d like to make especially for the programme?

We are excited and absolutely fascinated to see what you have to suggest.

The first screening is already fixed for the 24th May in London. Other screenings in other cities will follow – the programme will certainly tour!

And of course we’d love to have your films in the bildwechsel archive too.

Please send us your ideas / films by April 30th 2012 (or get in touch if you have something in mind that might take a bit longer).

Formats:

we only have the possibility to screen dvd at the London screening but welcome submissions in other formats as well (for the archive, but also, if you are happy for us to do it, to copy to dvd if we are able to, for the programme).  If your work is on 16 mm or super 8 we probably can’t copy it immediately but would love to discuss with you screening it in the future, and of course for archive purposes we’d love to have it.

sendet uns eure filme mit ideen und einblicken rund um gärten, das gärtnern und gartenideen. wir denken an fantasiegärten, weltraumgärten,luftgärten, künstler_innengärten, der gegenderte garten, sex & garten, guerilla gardening,  garten-musik,  hängende gärten, gärten der zukunft und großartige gärten der vergangenheit.  alle filme/videos sind willkommen: experimentell,dokumentarisch, animationsfilme – freshly made oder schon älter: wir sind sehr neugierig !

Bildwechsel:

Bildwechsel is an umbrella organisation for women+ and their representation in media, culture and art. We are a meeting point, open stage, platform and an infrastructure which women+ can tap into to share, support and develop their work/projects/ideas – in connection with the work of others and drawing on their knowledge and experience. We work as an art project, we develop and support events and initiatives and hold archive collections on women+/media/art. We aim to present a panoramic view of the work of women+ artists. We are concerned with the concept of woman+, artist, authorship and anonymity and this interest informs the ways we work.

Bildwechsel collects work and builds connections, develops projects and performances, screenings and collaborations, and are interested in contact with all sorts of professional amateurs and random observers.  Work that is donated to us will be cared for in the archives and can from there be shown and shared (dependent on the conditions the artist / filmmaker has asked for their work to be archived under): with our visitors, audiences, collaborators, researchers ….

Recognising and celebrating the diverse and changing communities we live and work within we use the term woman+ – to reflect our inclusiveness to those that support us and work alongside us.

The Sex Work Film Fest is now accepting international entries for the 2012 festival, to take place in Hamburg, Germany in June.
The entry deadline is March 15th 2012.

Hamburg is a city widely known for its ‘redlight district’ and, like many other places, has a long history of sex work. Sex work is legal in Germany, which should guarantee that sex workers have the same rights as other workers. However, the reality is that many of the fights for sex workers’ rights remain the same as they are in countries where sex work is illegal. The current wave of gentrification in the city criminalizes and displaces many sex workers from their established working places.

This festival aims to give a strong voice to sex workers, showing a wide variety of films that represent sex workers’ lives and that address the debates and discussions around sex work all over the world.

We are interested in a wide variety of material: experimental, narrative, fictional, documentary, shorts, diy, activist, etc.
The festival welcomes relevant films from any period and any genre.
